Bun-less Hot Dogs

Do you have crazy things your family likes but you'd never serve to anyone else? One of our favorites is bun-less hot dogs. A few years ago, as a weight-management strategy, I stopped eating any bread "not worth the carbs." And that's a pretty high bar.

So, anyway, I had a sudden craving for a hot dog--and, please, was there ever a hot dog bun worth the carbs? None I've ever had. Thus--the bun-less hot dog was invented:

Grill Nathan's all beef hot dogs (2 per person) and cut into pieces. Put pieces in bowl. Cover with lots of homemade chili. Top with slaw.

I promise you will not miss the bun. We've grown so fond of this that pretty much any time I make a pot of chili--which is lots during the winter--we have bun-less hot dogs once that week.

Yummy bun-less hot dogs--that's what we're having.
